Ok. Thats it, I'm bushed.
I downloaded mono 1.1.4 installer package for OS X this evening, and installed it, after first going in and removing all files from the old version of mono that I was running.
I really only installed it so that I could check out Managed Windows Forms. It's not working. It's still trying to use X11 for it's backend.
I dont understand why. The only UI dll's on the system are the new System.Windows.Forms and System.Drawing dlls, which should delegate down to Cairo and then to the mac's Carbon libraries (I presume), but they ain't. I get an error informing me that I have to run an X server.
I think I am going to uninstall mono and go through my filesystem with a fine toothcomb and try again.
I'll give it a try on my girlfriends ibook before that, I dont think she's got mono installed at all, but I'm not sure...I may have already put an older version on there a few months ago when I was trying something.
I'll keep you posted.
