Another gripe. I'm getting predictable.
I'm in mid project at the moment, working on an inhouse system that needs to go vee-one pretty damn soon (like, by the end of the week coming up). What "burns my canoles" is that I am being dragged off to London to do a ten minute demo on SharePoint technologies during that week. 10 minute demo, one day wasted; not to mention the additional wasted half-day to a day before while I prepare for the demo. Going into London is such a draining experience, and the temperature is set to hit the high 20's, low 30's (celcius) on that day, with the underground being even hotter. I'll be lugging a heavy demo laptop with all the power pack accessories etc, wearing a suit and spending about 40 minutes on a train with no aircon.
My opinion of this demo is thats it's an unneccesary waste of my time. Management should just take the time to understand how to use Sharepoint and do the demo's themselves. Why waste a developers time when they are coming up to a deadline with this crap. Dilbert cartoons never looked so accurate.
The heat at the moment is unbearable. We turned the air-conditioner on for about an hour in the livingroom, and that helped some. It's off now and the temperature and humidity are back to what they were.
